The cyclonic storm "Mandous" over the Bay of Bengal is forecast to strike the coast between Puducherry and Sriharikota in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh
at midnight on December 9, 2022, according to the IMD's live updates on the Tamil Nadu Mandous cyclone on Thursday (December 8).
IMD issued a yellow alert warning for Cyclone Mandous, predicting that it would move west-northwestward, gradually intensify into a Cyclonic Storm,
and cross the north coast of Tamilnadu, Puducherry, and the adjacent south Andhra Pradesh coast between Puducherry and Sriharikota on or around December 10.
According to the most recent information, Cyclone Mandous is currently over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and is predicted to reach north Tamil Nadu,
Puducherry, and the adjacent south AP coast by Puducherry and Sriharikota at midnight on December 9, 2022, with winds of 70 kph.
IMD predicted light to moderate precipitation for the majority of locations, heavy to very heavy precipitation for a small number of locations,
and extremely heavy precipitation for a small number of locations very likely over north coastal Tamil Nadu
Puducherry, and adjacent south Coastal Andhra Pradesh and north interior Tamilnadu and Rayalaseema for December 9, 2022.
